About us The Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre (MISC) is the first facility in Queensland dedicated to advancing the latest Ultra Minimally Invasive Musculoskeletal Interventions and Surgeries . MISC is home to Maguire Upper Limb, Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists and the Carpal Tunnel Clinic Gold Coast . As an Accredited Day Hospital , we provide a unique environment where you can learn both the “front-of-house” excellence of specialist clinics and the behind-the-scenes coordination that keeps theatre and day procedures running smoothly. You’ll be exposed to leading-edge procedures such as: Ultrasound-Guided Hand Surgery (Carpal Tunnel, Trigger Finger, Dupuytren's) Ultrasound-Assisted Arthoscopic Wrist Surgery (De Quervain's, Ganglions) Ultrasound-Assisted Arthoscopic Elbow Surgery (Cubital Tunnel, Tennis Elbow) (No other surgeon in Australia offers all these ultra-minimally invasive surgeries.) The role This is a dynamic position combining medical reception, medical administration, and (if desired) clinical assisting . You’ll be supported with structured training and a team that genuinely wants you to succeed. Optional clinical pathway (important) If you’re interested, administrative staff—with or without nursing training—will have the opportunity to receive training to: Assist with minor procedures , including ultrasound-guided interventions Learn to support theatre workflows , including assisting in the theatre for larger surgical cases Develop clinical-adjacent skills that deepen your understanding of specialist patient care This pathway is optional and will be guided by your comfort level, capability, and role requirements. Key responsibilities Patient reception & clinic support Welcoming patients and delivering a calm, professional patient experience Managing appointments, recalls, and schedules Handling phone enquiries with excellent etiquette and efficiency Supporting consulting clinics and patient flow Medical administration (training provided) Learning specialist billing processes: Medicare, Health Funds, DVA, WorkCover Preparing, editing and formatting correspondence and reports We use voice-to-text / AI-enabled documentation tools to streamline reporting and reduce manual typing Scanning, filing, and maintaining accurate patient records General office and administrative duties Theatre & day hospital coordination Assisting with organising and booking theatre lists Supporting the operational workflow of an Accredited Day Hospital Working closely with clinicians and the team to keep sessions running smoothly Clinical assisting (optional, with training) Assisting with minor procedures (e.g., ultrasound-guided interventions) Learning safe, appropriate theatre support processes and clinical assisting support for larger surgical cases (role-dependent) What we’re looking for We’re seeking someone who is patient-focused, organised, and committed to developing in healthcare.
